Critique Request

I would be most grateful for any feedback on my site at:

http://www.stmarys.cambs.sch.uk/

This site was written just over a year ago and is now in need of a complete
overhaul. I have quite a few ideas what it needs in the way of content (I
think!) but I would really appreciate any input re what people consider the
weak areas of the site to be: design, structure, navigation, whatever...
Also, are there any good features that perhaps I ought to keep? The site
validated when I first wrote it. Since then I have only made minor updates,
so it's probably still OK on this front. The search engine on the front page
was only added last week and has not yet been customised - this will be part
of what I need to tackle. The site includes quite a few photos (by request
of my colleagues) but I hope that the download time is not too great as I
compressed them quite a bit. I'll probably use shorter pages and fewer,
better-quality photos in my next edition.
