Jacqueline,

It's obvious you've put quite a bit of work into your site. It shows.
Everything looks great at 1024x768. My only criticism (at that resolution)
is that I'm not fond of clip art. The areas you write about are so
beautiful, drop some pictures in. Maybe make them thumbnails if you're
pressed for space, and have them launch in new windows when clicked on.

At 640x480, you have some problems. Your navigation graphics are rather
large, and take up most of the screen real estate, leaving you little room
down the middle for text. On the page with your photo, the picture is so
wide that the user is forced to scroll horizontally (a real problem). Also,
your vertical rules are not long enough at this resolution.

Whether you design for people at 640x480 is up to you. I'm not going to
start a holy war over this. I will say that many people I know run their
monitors at this resolution because:
1. They don't know how to change the resolution
2. They like everything on the screen to be large.

If you decide to redesign to be friendlier to low resolution, I would scale
the leaf graphics down a bit and take them out to the margins of the page to
maximize your working space.

I look forward to seeing your photographs and have bookmarked your page.

Did you see them moving the lighthouse when you were in Cape Hatteras? I
spoke with one of the park service officials when I was there over Memorial
Day weekend, and I think that's just amazing that they can do this!
