I came up with a solution that worked well for a friend's site. It is
designed for a width of 640 basically, but uses the final 160 pixels to
the right as a blue field with the company logo on a 45 degree slant,
repeated over and over. He uses a simple text logo which lends itself
to this application. There is no vital information there, so those
viewing at 640 width don't feel the need to keep scrolling back and
forth, but it does serve to nicely display the company logo for those
viewing at 800 width. The site is not yet up and running, or I would
post the URL so you could get a better idea. I'm sure that there are
many, many other options that would work as well.
