This is huge! if you need to use a giant image like this,
definitely dont use lowsrc, as 50K is pretty big anyways.
I would just go with the smaller file, or better yet
compress it even more
(http://irc.myhome.net/opperman/title5.jpg 18K). this
compressing only save on the downloading, on a slower
machine this is going to eat up memory no matter how
compressed the file is, as it is uncompressed to be
displayed.

I would consider re planning this page without the giant
background thing.
