very nice looking artwork, the gallery section is
beautiful with the poetry and art side by side.

the first page seems unconnected though. no beautiful
colors, just a lot of text (even the image is just text.)
i would suggest putting an example of the artwork as the
first thing on the page. after all, that is what is
important. you can still work the navigation into it, i
think that would be very nice. as it is, i wasn't really
sure what kind of artwork it was, or why i cared.

one other thing: i have noticed this with other sites
occasionally. Netscape does not exactly match the
background color with the background of the images (your
navigation images most obviously.) you might want to make
the images with a transparent background to get around
this. IE looks fine.
