Wow...quite a response from a list that's been silent for so long.

I, for one, appreciate reading Killian's comments. I also appreciate
reading everyone else's comments. We can all learn something from
each other. (Continue with the hey, everybody is peachy comments for
a few more pages...I don't have the time to type them.)

HWG-Critique is a tough list. I've learned that without even posting
a site to *be* critiqued. If you can't take criticism, ask
yourself...what are you doing here? :)

Now, as far as the whole thing about Starr's religion (which seems to
have provoked this off-topic borderline flame-war) I'll admit that I,
too, was put off by the religious proclamations in her .sig. I'm
atheist, myself, but when I met Starr on the Basics list, I found a 16
yo kid who's willing to step past that line and say hey...i'm gonna do
this. I have a great admiration for anyone who does that, but coming
from a 16 yo, it makes me admire her determination even more. What
does her religious views have to do with that?

I'd be more put off, and would not have responded, had she placed a
"hate statement" in her .sig. I've been attacked (verbally and
physically) by religious fanatics because I participate in gay events
and am a lesbian. What does that have to do with this list? The same
thing Starr's religious views have to do with this list...absolutely
nothing.

Now, as far as Killian goes, I also have an admiration for his work.
Every time I go to one of his sites, the first thing that goes through
my mind is "Wow!" Then, I realize I'm admiring his graphics and delve
deeper into the realm of his HTML. I'm far better at the technical,
programming and coding side of web design than I feel I will ever be
at graphics. (A former co-worker of mine has started doing mine.)
Yes, his HTML may not be "dead on" in some cases, but can we all say
that ours is? Look past Killian's harsh (and honest) impressions and
look at what he's *really* saying.

The rule is as simple as this: If ya don't like it, don't read it.
If a particular poster to a list offends you, you know where the
delete key is. (I have a couple of filters set up in my e-mail that
send the offenders' posts directly to my Trash bin.)

Looking back, what am I really saying here? Go easy on Starr because
she's young? No. To be a success in *ANY* business, you need to be
able to listen to ppl's comments regardless of how they are posted. I
feel it's best to learn that while you're young than in your first
year out of college. Am I saying that Killian is the best designer in
the Czech Republic and we should take his work as Gospel? No.
Everyone is entitled to opinion. You may or may not like his
graphics, you may or may not like his text, you may or may not like
his design. It's a personal thing.

Just IMNSHO here, maybe we ALL need to keep our comments about ppl's
beliefs to ourselves. We just might find an ally in someone we
wouldn't have met otherwise.

OK...I think I owe at least $.50 here...
Anybody have change for a dollar? :)

--skb -- who will probably regret this later...
