Hubert,

Well, there is no faulting your HTML coding. It all looks nice and clear, although you are using some depreciated tags, such as and <FONT> and <CENTER>. In all honestly, it is nice to see such clean cut coding on a page, after seeing hundreds of pages being churned out by WYSIWYG editors.

Unfortunately, there is a lot wrong with your pages in terms of style. The whole thing seems to date back to about 1995 in terms of presentation. I would STRONGLY advise against using non-customised animated GIFs, as it gives the page a very cheap feel. It's fair enough to have a Guyanan flag present on the page, as there aren't a lot about. For example, if all the US and UK pages had their respective flags on, you might get a bit sick. I would recommend to have a static flag, rather that two animated ones, as they are quite irritating.

An excellent photograph of yourself, I must say, and probably the highest quality aspect to the p!
age. Stay away from the Rainbow colours on your text. I think it is appropriate to mention that rainbow text, and seperators, for that matter, are the worst thing on the Internet (IMHO). Why not seperate out the information onto seperate pages rather than having 1 long page. You should aim to create a web site like a CD multimedia presentation i.e. one screen length. If people have to scroll down too far, they'll get annoyed. In your case I suppose it isn't as important because the whole thing loads up so fast!

The articles on In-Vitro organ growth and the Millenium are interesting, and justifies my point of seperate pages for seperate content (something also followed on your adult pages...).

Your business pages are fast-loading, if a little plain (by the way, the Smada Consulants - what an ingenious name!!), but apart from that, pretty much the same applies from the personal site.

The best advice I could give to you is to read a book on design and to g!
et rid of those hideous rainbow seperators (and the animated GIFs).

All the best,

David Grant

----Original Message Follows----
From: Hubert Earl <HEARL(at)BIGFOOT.COM>
To: hwg-critique(at)hwg.org
Subject: Request for html site evaluation
Date: Thu, 20 Jul 2000 10:13:52 -0400

Hi,

This is my first post to this list, so please excuse any faux pas!
