Jason,

The first thing I noticed when I loaded your page was the fact that the Bizland advertisment jumped, suggesting that no dimensional properties have been specified. Is this ad compulsory? I presume that it is and that either the code is added upon uploading the page to the server. If this is correct, don't worry, but if it isn't you should alter the JavaScript on the page to specify height and width attributes.

I'm not a great fan of animations on a web page, unless it's owned by Warner Bros. or Disney, and IMHO you are overusing animations on the page. Flame effects on a black background can look alright if done in moderation, but I think it is slightly over the top.

It's a nice idea to have a fire extinguisher putting out the flames, but the quality of the fire extinguisher graphic is not up to that of the rest of the animation, or in the same colour scheme, and as a result looks very out of place. The underlying graphics (i.e. sans flames) look smart, and I'd much prefer to see them in place.

The pictures of your family are great, but it might be a nice idea to have those thumbnail size pictures as links to full size versions of the same picture.

I think it is a bad idea to use different graphics as page headers on different pages, as you lose the entire consistancy of the site - pick one style and stick with it!

My last point regards the under construction notices. Now, I'm sure everyone reading this has themselves used that now-infamous phrase on a page, but the reality is, a visitor to your site doesn't care if the page is under construction. Visiting that page is for them a waste of time unless there is some content on there. You should only provide a link to a complete page, and certainly not one with members of the Village People on it.

Regards,

David Grant
