minimal design - heavy graphics, splash design....

Many thanks ahead of time for any suggestions on this....

I have a very quiet, thoughtful project which is aimed at an international
audience, and has managed to gain a healthy viewership.

However, I'd like to extend that international perspective to the splash
page.  First off, it has to remain very quiet and thoughtful, and I really
don't want to introduce any colors to the 'setting' of the project.  I've
tried very muted background text listing all countries of the world, but
that was really too busy... any ideas???

It's collateral assets, yes I'm back, any ideas would be appreciated.
