Hi All,
I'd like to get some feedback from other developers on the method I have
used for this design. The page is at:
http://www.usyd.edu.au/su/bradtest/calendar/

I have used is to have a background image(5 x 1290 pixels)
with a 610 pixel blue box, which aligns with the 600 wide table I used as
my base. Using a number of nested tables to construct the console bars on
the side and top and setting the cell background colours to white for the
selected text area, I have achieved the look I want. Although I have used
some extended markup beyond 3.2, I have tested on a variety of browsers and
am happy with the results. Netscape 2 which doesn't support table cell
colours can view the pages by turning off the background image. Also by
having the margin settings (set to 10) which are ignored by N3 etc, N4 and
IE4 will align the table and background properly. Tested on NN2 and up on
Mac and PC, IE2 & 4 on Mac and PC, and also Opera3.2.

Note that this is still a work in progress, so not all links are functional

Not a 100% solution, but it will cover most instances, and in an Intranet
situation, it will definitely work.

Comments? (either to me or to the list)
