Works for me in MSIE 5.0, Windows 98
Both addresses resolve to 66.39.19.185 and even going to
http://66.39.19.185/ produces the page, so it doesn't seem to
be a problem with virtual hosting, or http 1.0 vs http 1.1
The only thing I can think of is that there might be a browser
type that only assumes input with www. in front of it is
starting with a machine name, and that any other input is
a file name. But even that wouldn't produce the 404 error.
Are you sure the 404 message is being delivered by the server
that the site is on? If so, then the answer to your problem
probably lies with the sysadmin for your host machine. If not,
then finding out what server is sending that 404 could provide
further clues. Either way, I'm 99.99% sure the problem is
a host-related, not design-related one. You don't have any
strange redirection that's apparent to me.
