Critique Police site

Recently did a redesign of the UGA Public Safety site. The new site will
not be released for a while but is "ready to go". Does not currently
validate, but I will go through and fix that soon.

Looking for comments on any aspect (other than validation).

For the curious the old site is still "live" at http://www.ps.uga.edu/

Speaking of validation... what type of validation should I work toward?
HTML 4, XHTML ?
