Hi All (as he speaks with red face),

During the last 24 hours I received at least 9 replies that you couldn't
access the static address I gave you in my original request to review
SurfWebSite.com ...

I was dumbfounded! "What IS this..." I thought to myself, "... a
'conspiracy'?" (Yes, like most Americans, I believe in conspiracies).

So I became frantic, to the point of purging the cashe's on my (most
up-to-date browsers -smile-) and purging the recent histories, and restarting
them all. Well, what do you know? *I* was able to access that static site ...
me, this lowly "novice" in a field of professional HTML "giants"!

"Something is wrong here.." I again thought to myself "...the Net is
conspiring against me!" So, to ascertain that I was *not* paranoid, I asked 3
of my very *none* techie friends to access that static site from their
browsers. You know what (just as I figured, I might add) THEY were able to
get there! "Aaaaha ...." I once again thought to myself, ".. there *is* a
conspiracy here!" (have you noticed I think too much to myself?).

But, just to be certain, I went to "Websitegarage" (by Netscape) to do a
spider check on that site's efficiency. If Websitegarage couldn't find that
site, then I would know that Netscape was part of this diabolical scheme.

But, much to my dismay, it had spidered the page! It didn't break any speed
records (coming in at a very poor 63.65 seconds @ 28.8 kbs). I just KNEW, it
had to have been me .. "But what?" I thought to myself (there I go thinking
again!)

I then decided to go back to the original inquiry from yesterday (copied
below) and realized *MY* foolish and embarrassing error (as a hush settles
over the crowd):

I gave you the WRONG static IP address numbers!!

I'm mortified!

If you have read this far, would you "please" go to:
http://63.249.217.191
and look at that site along the lines that I suggested in my original request
(and copied below)?

This very humiliated, novice, no talent, "conspiracies-r-us" type of guy ..
just blew it. And I sincerely, most humbly and with utter contempt for my
proofreading skills, do apologize!!

Most (embarrassingly) Sincerely,
Doug

COPY OF ORIGINAL REQUEST

Hi All,

I've been a member of this group for a few months now and have read with much
interest your various comments, suggestions and critiques. You've all got
such good insights in various areas, as a group, you create a wealth of
information.

With this in mind, I must tell you I'm getting paranoid about my own
commercial site. I've attempted to create it in a "business friendly"
atmosphere. In other words, I realize that the "IBM type" business page is in
vogue, but I just don't like that style .. lol .. I wanted to be serious, but
friendly, all at the same time. Now, I'm not so sure if I should "mainstream"
this page or go with what I have.

My programming level of knowledge could be considered almost at medium (or is
that mediocre .. lol ...) level.

But your comments, concerns, observations, and advice regarding the technical
applications of this site's programming would be greatly appreciated.

Let me have it with "both barrels" .. lol .. I need the professionalism of
your comments.

My primary concerns are in presentation, appeal, sense of "community",
organization, confidence in purchase, professional appearance and trust.

Also know that I have created this site with the TrelliX html editor.
Allowing me a WYSIWYG result and also the hand insertion of HTML code (in
those few areas in which I think I know what I am doing .. lol .. )

Anyway, your review of:
http://62.249.217.191/index.htm
would be greatly appreciated.

The static address is necessary until NIC gets around to resetting their
pointers to my new hosting company, CIHost.

Your review in I.E., Netscape, and AOL's browsers would be most appreciated.

Sincerely,
Doug

PS - If you feel that your critique needs only a private review by me, don't
hesitate to "make it so" (smile).
