WARNING: This site has sound!
http://www.mfthelp.com/
The client really wanted background sound, so this is
the gentlest, least obtrusive we came up with. For useability,
we included controls to turn it off, and limited the number of
times it looped.
I'm interested to know if you get the sound at all, and/or
if it loops for you (a single playing should be 8.5 seconds).
I find it loops in IE, but not in Opera - but I think that
might be because IE brings up MediaPlayer, and Opera brings
up Quicktime.
We spent way too much time finding the best combination of
OBJECT and EMBED to make this as cross-browser compatible as
possible, but I'm sure there are those of you out there who've
done better. Hints and pointers to resources are appreciated.
Those of you who view source will see some of our previous
attempts commented out!
Critique the whole site if you like, but I'm mostly interested
in how the sound comes across at this stage.
