Hello everyone,

Okay, I didn't design this page - and I want to preface by saying that I'm
analyzing design, not speaking politically.
http://www.johnkerry.com/front/splash.html
I can list at least three reasons why this is a brilliant splash page design.

1. The image communicates "many people endorse Kerry" and/or "many people
are like me" (considering that folks won't go to this page unless they're
looking for it).
2. The main objective of the page - to sign up members - is abundantly
clear and supported by the compelling image and headline. The fact that
there's nothing else to do on this page but sign up or skip it would ( i
think) drive more people to sign up.
3. The form is pretty and saves space by putting labels inside the form
fields: Streamlined & cool.

Also cool is the prominent "skip this page" link. I normally feel that
splash pages are superfluous and detract from a site's effectiveness but
this is a very good example.

Best Regards to All,
