Gorgeous site.
Personally, I find the minimalism on this home page to have a strong
artistic appeal, perfect for an arts related site. Placing more text
on it would diminish the beauty of it's initial striking impact.
Cross navigation: worked for me.
I'm not sure I buy this two-color rule, I've seen lots of sites that
are great with less. I'm not one who would like to see red on the
home page.
Load time: no problem here.
Centering: I like centered sites, because they don't look as queer
at higher resolutions as aligned upper left sites (all jammed in the
upper left).
Though some people don't like white on black, I founnd it striking.
It might be more legible if you either bumped it up one size, bolded,
or switched to arial.
I second the reduced scrolling.
I think it is generally accepted that a copyright notice is
pointless, your copyright infringement rights are the same whether
you have a notice on your page or not, so drop it.
There is statistical research that shows that web surfers are going
to spend less time on your site if it has a counter. Consider useing
server logs for your information, or use an invisible counter.
No need to advertise for microsoft.
Stamp some grey background on the left side background of Theron's
picture using a photo editing program.
Gorgeous!
