currently, the volunteer credit program is in place. within each program
that is run by volunteers, there is a process to getting the credit. for
example, the list guide program has their own requirements for receiving
credit. you have to work a certain amount of shifts for a specific amount
of time so that you can get the credit ... and then possibly upgrade your
membership from one level to another.

however, there are some of us within different programs who were volunteers
before the credit program came into play. we were just insane enough to
volunteer for the heck of it ...

some people may think that the volunteer credit program is bad because the
guild loses that revenue ... but i think the guild would lose a lot more
without the volunteers. (then again, there are those of us who don't
volunteer for the credit)
