in asking for ideas on how to get more volunteers, i was sort of hoping
that the ideas would be ones that aren't already being used...

currently, there is a HWG Volunteer website. that site includes a help
wanted list and instructions on how to apply to be a volunteer. there is
also a hwg-volunteers mailing list. there is also an incentive program for
volunteers. all of these things we already have and use.

what more can be done? we need volunteers. perfect example is the list
guide program, which is currently understaffed and will be more
understaffed once the changes to the current mailing lists are made. we do
recruit for people to be LG's ... but obviously that isn't enough.

i like the intern idea ... or the idea that people could use their
volunteer experience for more than just the experience.

(btw, before anyone suggests it ... there is already a volunteer cordinator
who does a great job of maintaining the volunteer website and getting the
help wanted info from the various program directors. so that is being done
now)
