I agree that the logo is a major problem.  I have seen many sites that misuse
the logo.  How can we alleviate the problem?  Many non-members I know have
expressed that the logo gives a negative connotation to a site because it is
often misused.

I know this is how I found out about HWG.  But in my opinion, we need to
somehow control misusage.
