Actually, Mike, there is a better way - In your Word document, click on the
image to select it - do a Control C (a pc environment). In Photoshop,
before you open a new window, do Control N - This will open a window dialog
box the conforms to the image dimensions and resolution of the saved image
on the clipboard. Click okay to open the new window. Then do a Control V -
this will copy from the clipboard to the new window. The catch here is that
with the Control N it sets up the dialog with the same resolution.
Therefore, if the image you're trying to capture is 600 dpi, then the window
will open with 600 dpi already configured.

If that's true, does anyone know of a better way to retrieve the images
embedded in a word document and save them as close to their original
resolution as possible?

Thanks,
Mike
