Text on 3D object

I just made an graphic in Bryce3D .. as you might know you are not able to
add any text to the graphics with Bryce.. so I saved it and added the text I
wanted to have in Phososhop using KPT 5.0 .. however.. the result still
isn't as good as I want it to be.

Could you guys give me advise how to make the text on this sign look a
little bit better? How would you have added the text to the street sign?
