Hello all! I am having a problem with the background on one of my sites.
Actually, it is the background on every page except the home page
(different background/plain white on the home page). For some reason, on
the other pages, EVERYTHING  loads first, so that there is a white
background for the first x seconds and then, LAST, comes the background.
Looks terrible. Any ideas?

Certainly. First of all, though, it doesn't look terrible - the main color
in the background image is white anyway, so the white bgcolor is the correct
'waiting' color.

The reason the background image loads slowly is that it's huge - 1.3M
(1407K). 1200 x 1200 x 256colors. Try slicing it off to something like
Height 50 by width 1200. And perhaps reduce color level to 16 colors. You'll
see a marked difference in loading speed, and probably not much, if any,
quality difference.
