If you are doing alot of testing, with browsers and javascript, then it's
possible that eventually you will run out of memory because various programs
have memory leaks. Basically, a program will start using a certain amount of
RAM, and when it closes out, it should let go of all of the memory
allocated. Not always the case! The only solution here is to shutdown and
restart. If you notice this happening quickly after working with various
programs, then I suggest taking a good look at the code to make sure that it
isn't the problem.

I seem to run into this problem often with Netscape.
In the end, getting more RAM helps offset the problem.
Peace.

Subject: Out of Memory Error in Netscape

Hi all,

  I have a HTML page which contains 2 Frames ( left &
right ). In the left frame I display about 20 gif
files, which are used as links to different Forms, and
on the right side I display Forms depending on which
gif file the user clicked in the left FRAME. There is
some amount of Javascript in the left FRAME.

This page loads perfectly well in Internet Explorer.
But when I load the same page in Netscape it gives me
an "Out of Memory" Error.

Another thing I noticed is that if I load the HTML
page in the left FRAME as a single page ( No Frames )
then it works in Netscape too.

Could some one please tell me what error I am
commiting ?

Thanx and Regards
Masaoud
