Adobe VS Corel - Thanks

I would like to say thank you to everyone who replied to my post.  The
insight was helpful.

There really was no preference (in the end), anyone who seemed to lean
towards one also endorsed the other as a great program.  Most people liked
the usability of PhotoShop, and the features of Photopaint.

What made up my mind in the end was when I saw an academic version of
CorelDraw 8 (which includes Photopaint, and other utilities) for less than
$100 CDN (no manuals).  Being a student, I walked out with a copy.
