Greetings all,

I have a degree in Fine Art. Therefore I've been on the receiving end as
well as the giving end of many critiques. Believe it or not there is a
standard and professional way to give a critique.

1. Point out errors
2. Define WHY you feel its an error - this lets those hearing the critique
decide for themselves if its based in merit or just a personal opinion.
3. Mention other options ( ie. a different color, design or interface...)
and add why you feel this would have improved the piece.

This gives all involved a basis to discuss art or any other subjective
medium. Everyone gets a chance to improve - veterans will not make
mistakes they have yet to make. The new people have a positive learning
experience and the benefit of hearing from more developed designers.

If you're not part of the solution your part of the problem. Some of you
could use an exercise in humility.

Denise
