XARA will import the image as <*.ico>

The image can then be exported as a <*.gif> or any one of 27 other formats
available, including jpg, png and tif.  I just did it and it works.

Just out of interest, what other graphics programmes can do it?  I only ask,
so that other people might benefit whilst making a purchasing decision.

I use XARA because it's so versatile, does *nearly* everything Corel & Illy
try to do, without leaving a big hole in your pocket.  Also creates smaller
files and loads up in a quarter of the time.
