Dear Jami/Dusty

If the problem is not with your monitor, and the problem is not with PSP,
then what is causing the image to look the way it does?
It seems we're talking about some sort of file corruption, maybe someone
knows of a JASC clinic where you could submit it for them to figure out.
On the other hand, I recall you had a problem recently with an image called
Coming Home that you had put through an optimiser that made the border
disappear, and it turned out that the optimiser had made it transparent. If
this image was optimised by the same program, maybe you ought to use
something else.

Maggie.

:As I have said before, I have made every possible adjustment to my monitor
:that I or anyone else can think of to make. And, as I said in my last post,
:the problem occurs on at least 3 different monitors that I know of so far.
:So it is NOT a monitor issue. And the problem happens whether the image is
:viewed in or out of the graphics program. So it is NOT a Paint Shop Pro
:issue.

:> Hi Jami,
:>
:> I don't know if this will help, but maybe the following will point some
of
:> the more knowledgeable in a direction to help Jami, and myself....
:>
:> I'm more of a "software" expert, and leave the "hardware issues" to my
:> family resources (luckily I have plenty!). However, I tend to think that
:> the issue is a combination of monitor and graphic. I have found that
many
:> of my graphics appear "brighter" on other monitors, while they are darker
:> full of nice contrast on my PC... why, I don't know.
:>
:> Recently, my son asked me to create a web page for his Everquest Guild,
:and
:> I agreed provided that he do the ground work on the graphics. Then I
:would
:> spruce them up as needed, as I am swamped right now. (Of course, this
:ended
:> up taking my time in tutoring instead of work, but will hopefully payoff
:in
:> the end.)
:>
:> Anyway, my son created a colorful graphic on his new PC with a 17 inch
:> monitor and then brought it over on a disk for me to finalize. For some
:> reason on my PC the graphic was MUCH darker and murky on my PC. I pulled
:> the graphic into Photoshop and then did a simple Image/Adjust/Auto
Levels,
:> and voila, the image appeared as bright and cheery as it did on the
:original
:> on my son's PC.
:>
:> Does that make sense to anyone? Is there anyway my monitor can be
:adjusted,
:> or any other insights... etc?
:>
:> Thanks all,
:> Jacqueline Sylvia

:>
:> Hello.......
:>
:> I'm the person who several days ago was having a problem with an image
:> showing up as having black hair on my computer when everyone else swore
up
:> and down that her hair was a dark auburn. I had people telling me all
:sorts
:> of things to do with my Paint Shop Pro and my monitor in an attempt to
:> rectify the situation.
:>
:> Well, I have just found out that at least two other people also see the
:hair
:> as black on their computers. No shades of auburn, or gray, or any other
:> color. All black. And these people don't have any imaging programs, they
:are
:> seeing it straight from the computer screen. Both in my doctored image
and
:> in the original.
:>
:> So, now I'm still puzzled as to why the problem occurred, but have
:concluded
:> that the problem is in the image itself.
