Hello......

First of all, I want to thank everyone who took the time to answer my
question. I've tried to respond to several of them privately, but I'll send
this to the list to save having to re-type the same information again.

I've come to the conclusion that this is a matter of my computer simply not
liking this one particular image. I have made every adjustment to both my
monitor and the settings of my computer, to no avail. The hair comes out
completely black with no variation, and the skin tones come out very normal.
This happens on two different websites where the picture appears.

When I pull the image into my Paint Shop Pro, I used the color dropper to
grab the color from several different places on the hair, and each time it
read black....Red 0, Blue 0, Green 0. I have had four different people alter
the image in the desired fashion and send it back to me, and still the same
result. Their image looks just the same as the original image.....at least
as far as color goes. Again, I have made every adjustment I can think of to
my PSP.

I have scoured the net for other pictures of women with dark auburn hair,
and have been able to see the color clearly and pull it up with my PSP. I
recently did a very complicated job which required a lot of very detailed
color matching, and had no problems. I checked the color palette of the
image, and it is at the proper setting.

So, the only thing that I am left to conclude, short of a 100-mile trip to
the nearest computer repair shop, is that it is something with this one
image that conflicts with something in my computer. I've decided not to
worry about it unless the problem surfaces again.

Again, thank you to everyone who offered advice,
Dusty
