You are correct to a degree, Ineke.  I am considered to be about 85% color
blind.  However, my wife who is an artist is amazed at how well I can work
with colors.  I think the secret is that although we have difficulty with
reds and greens, it's when they are meshed together rather than separate.
Also, with reds and greens, it's more a matter of shade rather than the
actual color itself.  I work with a large degree of colors which are not
categorized as web safe and don't really have too much problem.  I compare
the colors used against several monitors to determine effect.  I also agree
with other comments regarding today's monitors and video cards being much
more sophisticated.

BTW, being color blind isn't all bad.  When I was in the military I was used
quite often as a spotter because I was never affected by camoflouge and
could see objects (Guns, tanks, etc) where others couldn't.
