This apparently is not true for images that are specified as an
attribute of the body tag, for I have questioned this myself on one of
the HWG lists (I believe the Graphics list) not too long ago. I have had
AOL users check my 1600 pixel wide jpeg background, and all that checked
it said it did not tile.
