If you are speaking of textures, then read the following:
The textures for PSP 6 need to be 256 color greyscale, seamless images.
PSP 6 reads the old tex format and bmp formats.
Create or open the image that you want to use.
Select a portion of the image and click Selections > Convert to Seamless
Pattern
Then go to Colors > Greyscale
Save it as a bmp file in your Textures folder
