I have a few crayon drawings that I need to scan.

The problem is the crayon-oil on the surface. If I touch them, I can
actually see some stick to my fingers. If I just put them on my
scanner like that, I'm afraid of spoiling the glass (it's a flatbed).

I tried putting a transparent slide between the paper and the glass
but it not only introduced glare and stupid relics, it also changed
the overall tint of the whole image (i guess the plastic will always
leave some sort of tint?)

What do I do? I'm stumped.
