Hi Cynthia,

I use this method with PhotoShop to accompish what you want very quickly and
accurately for any text position. I am sure you could do the same in PSP.

Get the first graphic ready, pull guides to the left and bottom of the text
(assuming left justification of text) and save the file. Save again as a new
file (see note). Turn your snap to guides on. I delete the original text and
retype with the new color. Save the changes. It's not elegant, but it is
deadly accurate and you always get the best quality since the type has not
been manipulated in any way.

Note: When I am doing things like this - working one file from a previous
one - my first action is always to save the first file to a new name. When
you have a dozen or more of these to do, leaving the original file active is
just asking for trouble. (Obviously experience talking here. *s*)

Subject: Centering Text

Hi folks - I need to create a series of text buttons with the text perfectly
centered in each one so that when I use mouseovers, the text doesn't appear
to shift. I have PaintShop Pro 6.0, which does a great job on the text, but
doesn't have a centering feature that I can locate. I have Photoshop 5.0,
which doesn't offer italics for the same font that PaintShop Pro offers in
italics. I have MS Image Composer which centers objects perfectly, but the
anti-alias feature makes the black text too soft and gray. Oh yeah, I have
Fireworks as well, but have never used it.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might do this? I want each button
to have text in black for the mouseover, and gray for the default. Trying
to center manually in PaintShop Pro is too imprecise for my needs, or I'd
stick with that.

Thanks,
Cynthia
