**********NEW INFORMATION INCLUDED**********

Greetings Graphics Members,

My name is Shelly Ross and I am the List Guide for the
HWG-graphics mailing list.

This FAQ is being sent to you as a reminder about the Guild
in general and hwg-graphics list in particular.

Please keep in mind HWG-Graphics has a specific charter and
certain topics are better suited to the other lists. This list is used
by HWG members to discuss the creation and usage of
graphics on the web. Its charter includes all forms of graphic
creation techniques, graphic display and design issues, and
hardware and software used in graphic creation.

The Guild has several ways to voice your opinions. Please use
one of the following and help keep the lists on topic and within
each lists charter.

* Town Hall Meetings (http://interact.hwg.org)
Talk to those on the board, meetings are held once a
month. Check the website for dates and times..

HWG Interact Forums (http://interact.hwg.org)

An "Operations" forum created for discussion of Guild business.

And, as always, you can always drop your favorite GB'er e-mail.

Graphics List Guides are always available to answer your questions
and address any questions and/or concerns you may have about
the HWG-graphics list. We can be reached via e-mail at:
lg-graphics(at)hwg.org

Thank you for taking the time to read this,
Shelly Ross

1. What are List Guides?
************************************************************

The List Guide Program was created to assist members on the HWG Mailing
Lists to get the most from the lists. We perform the task of helping the
lists get and keep quality, valuable, valid content. In addition, List
Guides
provide assistance to all who request it and help enforce the HWG policies
for the mailing lists.

If you have a problem with what someone else has posted to the list, then
you may freely respond to them in private email. List Guides will address
any violations of the HWG's Mailing List's Actionable Rules via private
email.
Refusal to abide by the Actionable rules can result in a member being
removed from the mailing list permanently or for a period of time depending
on the nature of the disturbance the member has caused.

The List Guide program is authorized and endorsed by the HTML Writers Guild
Governing Board. If you have a problem with an action taken by a List Guide
you may address that with their manager(s) by sending mail to
lg-manager(at)hwg.org .

5. What is the HWG-Graphics mailing list?
***********************************************************

This list is used by the HTML Writers Guild to discuss the creation and
usage of graphics on the web. Its charter includes all forms of graphic
creation techniques, graphic display and design issues, and hardware
and software used in graphic creation.

6. What topics do NOT belong on HWG-Graphics?
************************************************************
Messages sent to the entire list that are just "Thanks for all the help!",
should be sent privately, not to the list. Although it is a courteous
thing
to do, it is best to keep messages like that off list. You may thank them
in advance when posting your question to the list, as some members do
with the "TIA" at the end of a message. TIA=Thanks in advance.

If you would like to have you site looked at and receive comments about it
from other members, please post those requests to the hwg-critique list.
Requests for critiques are not allowed on the hwg-graphics list.

Discussion of pricing is NOT allowed on any HWG Mailing Lists. More
information about the HWG's policy on pricing discussion can be found at:
http://www.hwg.org/resources/faqs/priceFAQ.html If you ever have a
