AOL says that the problem of color bands and black blocks in graphics
created by Adobe PS4, PS5, and PhotoDeluxe can be fixed by reconfiguring
Adobe's software: Go to File/Preferences/Saving Files and choosing
"Never Save". This disables the option to save an image with a
"thumbnail preview", thereby saving the image with header information
that AOL's compression software can read correctly.

Has anyone tried this and does it work? Does it take care of the vast
majority of AOL's image display problems? Or is it better to ask the
surfer to select AOL's "uncompress graphics" option as people have
suggested?

TIA,
HMc
