PS5 & gif smartsaver

The colors in my graphics wash out when I Export them into Gif 
Smartsaver. Is this the optimization of Gif Smartsavor or PS? Does 
anyone else have this problem and have any ideas about what should I do 
about it? Thanks for any help.
