Looking for a good primer for PhotoImpact and Photoshop

Hi...

I am in a web position where suddenly I have been asked to create and 
modify existing buttons and banners.  I have fiddled around on my own 
with PhotoImpact 4.2 and Photoshop 4, but never thought I would ever 
have to produce something for a client.

I am looking for a few books (yes something, I can actually hold in my 
hand and use as a reference) for PI for pc and Photoshop 5 for mac.  I 
am a long time pc user, but we just got a new G3 powermac with the 
latest PS, Illustrator, and Quark, so I have a lot of studying ahead.  
At this point, I am very comfortable (not proficient) with PI and that 
would be my choice to dig into first.

Any suggestions?

BTW...can anyone recommend a good printer which is USB compatible for 
that new mac?
