I used to calculate this by hand as well... its not that I don't know how
to.... indeed I do. But one of the programmers at the ISP I work for pointed
this out to me when another webmaster and I were working on a piece of paper
the hex code for a shade of purple we were using while designing a site.
It was a great time saver for us, as we had like 6 different shades to
convert.
I'm not saying technology is a replacement for doing it in your head... I
learned that one when I took a calculus class where the teacher forbade
calculators in any tests. he said we should be able to do all of it in our
head. its a great training excercise.
But like I said, it was a time saver for me, and figured others might like
it, so I shared. Especially since the point of this list is to help each
other.
So, michael, do not view me as a lazy person that would prefer my computer
to do all my work for me, but a person that likes time, and money savings
(as in the extra time spent converting in your head costs money) tips.
thanks
Katrina
