Releif vs. Emboss (I think)

Hey y'all.  First off, I want to thank everyone who
answered my question about shadow drops.  I think it
was Blue and Ryan Bartschat (sorry if I spelled it
wrong)?  It helped me to get other effects that add
special things to dull text.

Anyway, getting to my questions.  In 3D effects, there
are two options that are similar.  The 2nd and the 3rd
option in list.  I don't which one is each, because my
Photo-Paint is in Spanish.  So what option name, in
English, is the 2nd one (after 3D rotation), and what
is the 3rd?  All I know is that one "takes out" a
whole cropped section (the 2nd option), while the
other takes out only the letters (I've only worked
with text lately).

So here's my question:  How do I make a button so I
can use it on my page?  I obtained a button with the
2nd option.  But I could change the colors so it would
look right on a black background.  And then the harder
part, how do I make it as if it were pushed?
