transparent gif

i have made some gifs using PaintShop Pro on my PC at high bit graphic and
when i saved them i got a warning saying they would be saved at 256 color. 
i proceeded and used Gifcon to make them have an invisible background.

i have done this before with no problems but never before with the high bit
graphic, i wonder if this is the reason of my problem.

if you closely see, the background of the pics are not entirely invisible,
there are some lines there. i am wondering how i can get rid of them.

also, i am wondering what is the best shareware program out there where i
can make 3-D text graphics.
