As an alternate, if you're thinking of using the curves in any type of 3D rendering program, take a look at sPatch. It's "a FREE spline-based 3D modeling program for Windows 95/NT. It's perfectly suited for a wide range of applications, from building models for VRML browsers to POV-Ray."
