Hi Jennifer,

The first step may vary (depending on what you are using- photo, line art,
text etc..)
Just mail me back if you don't understand that part.

A better thing to do besides just gaussin blurring the edges, as another
said, a more professional looking way would be to just feather the edges
and paste it onto a new canvas.

This is a set of instructions for a photo:

1. Open your photo. (duh)

2. Click on the marquee tool (dotted shape on the tool bar (square)).

3. Make a smaller square inside the photo, leaving a small amount of space
around the edges (this varies depending on the size of the photo).

4. Leave it selected and choose Selections --> Feather ---> 5

5. Layers--> Flatten Image

6. Edit--> Copy

7. Paste into a new image with the back ground of your choice.

8. Say your ABC's

9. Get some coffee

10. Watch T.V.

1. Open Photo
2. Crop an inner section, leaving a small "border" between the outside edge
of the photo and your selection.
3. Selections-->Feather-->5
4. Layers-->Flatten
5. Edit-->Copy
6. Ctrl-N
7. Ctrl-V
8. Save

I hope I didn't miss any steps, but I know I will get corrected in about 5
or 10 minutes, explaining how to do it in a much simpler way.

Another way would be to use Quickmask, and that would leave a lot of
options open for creative borders, but that is another day.

p.s. anyone know the REAL address of that MASS EMAIL WORKS! spammer that
has been sending to the www-style list? I'd like to wrap my hands around
that sucker's neck.
