this may not be appropriate for a "graphics" post, but i need help all the
same.

i use image maps a lot, often aligning the with text using tables, etc.
in order for the image map to look pretty on a white background, i set the
link colors to white.  so the problem arises when i want to have a link in
the 
aligned text-- poof!  white on white disappears.  i've tried specifying
different link 
colors in the grids (<tr>, <td>) of the table (like one would with
'bgcolor') . . . 
but nope, no luck.  

anyone have any ideas?
