crazy splits

i've been fighting with this problems for over an hour now and i'm on the
verge of insanity.  i split up a graphic and i'm trying to stick it back
together . . . i'm using tables and trying to figure out the tags, but i
can't get it to work.  will one of you image splitting gurus please take a
look at my code . . . you'll probably find my error in about a two shakes.
