alligning woes ...

hello.  i've posted a problem similar to this before, but i guess i
should've asked for an explanation rather than just a solution, b/c i'm
having problems again.  i'm trying to align the different components of a
large jpg which i've split into 15 pieces . . . it's kinda complicated.
