Yesterday I went to visit a client (first time visit to discuss their
website) and was faced with his office computers (a network of 5) ALL of
which were set to 800 x 600 and (get this!) 16 COLOURS! 

He spent some time complaining about the colours people used in web design
(before I saw the computers) and was very surprised when I explained why,
and pleased when I went around and changed them.

Makes one think.....
