Greetings, fellow guild members:
Now I ask you guys for a bit of advice; I am finally looking into buying a
scanner. <gasp>
I think you have been over this topic quite a bit, but here-goes.
Off topic alert: I hope not, as this directly deals with the graphics
department.
*crossing fingers & toes*
I am looking into buying a just-under-professionally-priced scanner (if
there is such a thing). (Just under 4 digits).
I have arrived at these choices:
HP ScanJet 6100C
HP ScanJet 5P
(I know there's a big price difference in the above, but then there's
resolution)
The below, I have no idea about prices (although Epson is uphill I imagine)
Epson ES 1000C
Epson Perfection 600
Epson Expression 636
Ok, just bear with me folks. I would like to know if any of you have an
experience with these scanners, and, if so, why would you recommend/not
recommend your suggested brand?
I am especially interested in anyone who has experience with Epson
scanners. I have an Epson printer, and that's one of the reasons that I
considered them in my choices-- besides their reputation.
I have no experience what so ever in this area; I had someone else do it. I
think it's about time I learned.
The resolution ranges for the above scanners are:
600x1200 and 600x2400 (the HP ScanJet 6100C is the latter figure).
Please people, no one-liners; I need some serious input. Pro's/Con's,
Resolution factors (if any, concerning the web ****AND PRINT****)
Thank you very much for your time and input.
while, yet again, drinking too much coffee and smoking too many cigarettes,
b.j.
