Scott,
In PhotoImpact, open the image that you want to use and copy paste it into
a new window with a white background. Merge it so that you can work on it.
Let's say that you want the left hand side of the graphic faded out. Select
a portion of the right hand side and convert it to an object. Right click
and select Properties. Click in the Soft Edge box and select the amount of
soft edge that you want...you'll have to play around with it a bit to get
the right effect.
Click on okay then, drag the right hand side of the graphic out to the
side...voila!!!
