Yes this is the same for Flash movies as well.

Both the Object tag (IE) and Embed (NN) are required if you
want the movie to be accessible on both platforms.

So while it may not be mentioned both are required.

Look at any site that incorporates a Flash animation you will always
see both tags.

IE will ignore the Embed tag and NN will ignore the Object tag. BUT
the Embed tag MUST be placed INSIDE the Object tags.

I'm not sure about browser versions tho... NN3 only using the Embed
and NN4 using the Object... I always thought that all versions of NN used
the Embed tag.
