Host-providers disallowing both FrontPage and FTP

Dear HWG-Graphics Friends,
Slightly off-topic, has anyone heard of a host-provider denying FTP access
when FrontPage extensions are enabled? My new host-provider, Virtualis is
steadfastly sticking by this policy, claiming vague problems which I think
amount to FP being clobbered accidentally via FTP too many times.
I need FTP to back up my site, including all the *graphics* on it (topic
tie-in ;-), and to run statistics programs...
